anybody else think its a bit suspicious that these lambs are being born deformed now, following the nuclear incident in japan?

Do the timings hang together? The Japan incident was a year ago, wasn't it? Wouln't that have impacted all lambings since? And calvings and kiddings?

I don't think so, the winds would have to carry that radiation a long way and i don't think our prevailing winds come from Japan ( i'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong)
I work with radiation in a hospital and i'm sure after 30 years of being exposed to it, my detector badge has never shown any exposure. i think we are in more danger from the Cornwall rocks than from Japan! but you never know stranger things can happen.
The deformed lambs and calves are from a virus; where this originated, they think possibly Africa. viruses can morph and change their protected coating so we may see variations coming out in the future, there was even a thinking the Bluetongue virus has mutated but when the press gets hold of things there is always an element of doubt.

thyeve only just stopped testing welsh lambs for radioactive fallout after chernobyl. that was quite far away too.
im not a conspiracy theorist, but like to question supposed coincidences.

doubtfull if radiation from japan fell on Britain an acted as fast as this
now radiation from Chernobyl that is fact and is now causing more cancers than before :farmer:

I had an interesting chat with a Japanese student who came from one of the areas near the nuclear site , she was over here when it happened , her family wasn't . They all died !
No family left at all and no home to go back to , no village even !
She has been back , but was not allowed anywhere near where she had grown up , huge areas are just too hot to go to . There are some 3000 people working on fukagima (sp ?) all day every day , and this will continue for the next 40 years at least . The japanese government blatantly lie about how much radiation there is ,and the people tend not to ask to many questions , and if they do are told in no uncertain terms not to !
We are told , however , that the sheep are infected with a virus , yet they have no idea how it has been passed on ?
The virus ? was first discovered last year , can't check dates with this poxy mobile , but it may have been before the meltdown ?
Some of the symptoms are very similar to tests on rats that were fed gm food though !
America is more affected by radiation from japan , some areas have 3-400 times the normal background levels since meltdown ? But hey , it's safe folks ! The government say so !

from the department of agricultural and rural development website on schmallenberg:
''DARD is continuing to monitor developments including discussions at the European Commission.
To assist early detection, were infection to occur here, farmers are asked to inform their veterinary surgeon of any stillbirth, malformation or nervous disease in new born animals or foetuses born to ruminant dams imported from mainland Europe since June 2011.''
the japanese fall out was recorded and measured in austria, there has been wild food restrictions throughout germany and belgium, no hunting mushrooms or shooting of deer and boar.

Yes but we can't do anything about it ... so why worry! . I have enough to worry about in life without adding to it. If you saw the radioactive isotope waste we chuck down the sink at work your toes would curl and that's perfectly legal!! Live your lives people and deal with the things you can change :D life is too short to worry about fallout.
I'm more worried about all the space junk that could come out the sky :o

why are you all bothering about japan and the fallout wales and cumbria still have restrictions after Chernobyl Scotland was cleared a few years ago live for the day and the moment cos you will be a long time dead :farmer:

Far as I know sometimes radiation related illnesses don't for 10 years or more. Deformities earlier I think, depending on exposure of the carrier.
