Title: are sweet peas harmful to birds?
Post by: northfifeduckling on April 01, 2009, 06:46:14 pm
I was thinking of growing sweet peas along the duck fence from the outside.  I know they are poisonous for us, but I wonder if the ducks might mistake them for food or if it doesn't matter to them?
As I'm at it...I'm now getting wheat and barley from a farm. They might also sell oats (not rolled), would they be good for ducks? They love porridge and rolled oats, but the way they come they might be too fibrous??? :&>

done a bit of research again and answering my own question : according to this

they should be safe being free range birds, but I'll rather plant something else now (maybe some real peas, treat for the birds and maybe they leave some for us lol, less colourful flowers but so what) :&>
