Title: Kakhi Campbell Drakes
Post by: jameslindsay on April 01, 2009, 12:01:50 pm
I have decided to sell off a few of last years Kakhi Campbell Drakes, anyone intersted? I have too many drakes to ducks ratio so it's unfair as they are randy all the time!

A good home has now been found for my boys so I am happy that the girls will get some peace with  less boys around.

Ratio for KCs is quite high I believe - 10 ducks to 1 drake I was told.  They are randy little bees

We've got a 6:2 ratio and it does get a bit wild sometimes...Genetically it's probably better if they are not all related, should we keep on having wee ones lol. But you are right, Annie, I do feel sorry for the girls sometimes, them getting chased through the garden and the little one has a real bald head from all the attention, poor soul.:&>

Jack seems to 'perform' more often when they are in water - I hate watching in case one of the girls gets drownded!  I have heard it can happen!  I think Jack is quite old though as my three girls seem to be quite happy.

Apparantly the bigger birds need the water to "perform", I know that's the only place the Aylesbury's can manage to do it. The Kakhi Campbells are so damned randy they do not have that problem.
