Gods I hate writing this, but just at the beginning of the growing season, my finances have gone arse over tits :(
I will be sorted in 6-8 wees but will have missed a huge chunk of valuable growing time by then.
Does anyone know where I can get free seeds from.
Sylvia bless her sent me some  thank you sweetie
Thanks all x
-
what do you need?
-
Anything that will
a) feed us
b) use space that would otherwise get weedy
I have already got beans, gherkins, leaf salad, beetroot, brocolli and mange tout peas.
But I will grow anything that will keep us fed ;D
-
carrots, peas and toms?? pm your address and ill post some up to you.
-
Same here, pm me and I'll send you seeds, got too many and don't like them not being used.
-
I would send some if I had some to spare, loving this thread, though. Smallholding community at it's best. :)
-
I have some. Not sure what without checking but pm your address and I'll send what I have.
-
PM your address, we'll definitely have some to spare, always do! :)
-
I can also send you some seeds, can't remember off the top of my head what there is, but I know I've got loads.
PM me your address. Happy to help if I can.
-
Send me your addres and I shall see what I can sort out

Great show of generosity above, well done all.
I've none to offer, but try this site which appears to be offering free seeds if you send a SAE (http://www.farminmypocket.co.uk/featured/free-seeds-at-last). Good luck!
-
Truly humbled here, thank you guys so much :-* :-* :-*
If ever I can repay the favour just shout x
Edited to add, should I end up with extra, I will pass them on if anyone else is in need here, or the local 'Blooming Youth' scheme.
This huge act of generosity will not be forgotten xx

How about a separate thread for seed/plant exchange? Would just need location and list of what is available
-
Agreed. We should be pooling our resources wherever possible. Nice! :)
-
Excellent idea. Over to you Dan.
-
 Not had any luck elsewhere (including link above). Also a bit reluctant to ask but need to get planting so if anyone can spare some vegetable seeds that would be much appreciated. Happy to send SAE :)
Thanks and big thanks if you have some seeds you can spare

On another forum they started what they call a seed circle
Any surplus seeds are sent on to the next recipient who takes what they would like adds what they have a surplus of and passes on giving participants the opportunity to try a wider variety of veg etc without having to waste money has proven to be hugely successful
-
Any takers for a bag of red onion sets? I won't have space for them this year I think.
-
I would Yorkshirelass ;) could i send you something back
-
If i have too much i'll send it on to you if you PM me your address ;D
Looking forward to Mr postman now, instead of hiding when he arrives :D
-
Thank you for the seeds offer, have sent a PM
At £3.49 for a little pack the garden centre really must be having a laugh. Ten different vegetable seed types and thats £35 for some seeds. Robbery! :o
-
Thought this site might help. Much cheaper

If anyone is thinking of buying seeds I recommend this http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Premier-Seeds-Direct?_trksid=p4340.l2563 (http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Premier-Seeds-Direct?_trksid=p4340.l2563) I have had a good few packs from them and they have all germinated and growing well. The larger numbers in the seed packs from them may mean we can swap even more seeds around
oooh and another thing it doesn't matter how much you order there is only a 59p P&P
-
I don't know why my link has gone all funny but it is premier seeds on ebay
-
I've got masses of spare pea seeds if anyone wants 'em, Kelvedon Wonder and Feltham First. Also plenty of parsnip seed, White Gem and Gladiator.

I'll second that, we used them last year and had terrific success

I'd love them, Benkt! I stupidly left me seeds in the greenhouse over the winter and the mice ate every last pea and bean, the buggers.
The only thing I have an excess of is cornflower seed, which are very pretty. I have about 50 packets (bought a load on ebay a couple of years ago. I put them in the children's party bags at one of the girls' birthday parties, everyone was thrilled! Just a thought for all you mummies!)
Benkt, I will happily paypal you the P&P if you're happy to pass the peas?!
:)

Yes please!
I have been kindly given some already but I can eat my own weight in pea shoots daily :yum:
