Title: Ferrets

What are the pros and cons about keeping them for catching rabbits?  Are they easy to train?

if you live near any old mining villages - ask around - a lot of the older man used to do what you are interested in for a hobby.

In "MY" experience ferrets take very little training, most have a built in instinct to work,if you are starting off with young inexperienced ferrets it sometimes pays off to have them work a few times with an experienced ferret a couple of times. The most important thing is to have them used to being picked up and handled as there's nothing worse than having a ferret thats hand shy and darts for cover on an empty warren, you could lose hours trying to get the ferret back.Secondly invest in a ferret locator and collar,if you have any specific questions feel free to pm me,or you location if you are not to far from B-O-T and fancy having a try i might be able to give you a ferreting day depending on time of year as it can be more trouble than its worth in breeding season.
