Title: well hello
Post by: hensintheorchard.blogspot.com on March 04, 2012, 05:38:37 pm
]Hi There
My name is Sarah, my husband and I moved to our small-holding a couple of years ago, to live our dream. We have chickens, ducks, 2 cats Shadow and Mittens and a dog Daisy. We are going to get some sheep later in the year and some weaner pigs. There is a wild flower meadow with many rare species of flowers and insects including glow-worms and wild orchids. We are learning how to grow our own fruit and vegetables and have put in a traditional orchard with apples, pears, plums. quince, cherries, greengages and crab-apples,  so any help and advice would be very welcome as we are still novices
I love knitting and I am learning to crochet, have just recently bought a spinning wheel to spin to knit and have a go at natural dying, and hope to buy soon a peg loom. I love cooking and baking and anything to do with the home and the good-life.
I have just started a blog of our journey and you are all very welcome to visit along our path with us at www.hensintheorchard.blogspot.com (http://www.hensintheorchard.blogspot.com). It would be lovely to hear from people that enjoy what we do also. I love this informative site, many thanks for it, I only found it today and already it has help us.
Love Sarah

Many thanks for welcoming me. It is lovely to get your replies. Well must go and feed my chickens and ducks now - It looks a nice day out there. I am going to put some apricot call ducks in the incubator today so would love to hear from anyone about to do the same! It will be nice to have some little ducklings for Easter. We have a still air Brinsea polyhatch. Do any of you hatch duck eggs in them? I have hatched chicken and quails in it with a lot of success. Will let you know how I get on. Hope to hear from you soon. www.hensintheorchard.blogspot.com (http://www.hensintheorchard.blogspot.com)
