Title: Hello from West Wales
Post by: funkyduck on March 30, 2009, 03:10:42 pm
We have chickens :chook:, angora rabbits, a cat :cat: and a dog :dog:. Our ducks were eaten by the fox but i am getting some more this spring and for the first time we are getting some weaners :pig: our pig ark has arrived and I can't wait for the pigs to arrive!! I would also love to get a couple of goats (to eat the mass of brambles on the smallholding!!) and some llamas (to protect our ducks and chickens) but I think we will do one thing at a time!!

Hello Ruth, and welcome.  :)

Good luck with the weaners, which breed have you gone for?

And do I need to sort out a llama icon now?!  ::)  :llama:

hello in west wales, i'm in west wales too  :D, just starting out have, 3 :sheep: 15 :chook: 6 geese 1 :dog: 2 :cat: lots and lots of rabbits and  :pig: :&> to follow shortly, there's nothing like getting stuck well in, have learned loads over the last two years and am having oodles of fun. we have about 4 acres of bramble and nettle beds but a very friendly goat called curry made a great job of clearing us some space.
we're just making a start on veg beds at the mo and enjoying the mild weather, hope you're having fun too, regards tracey, hobby :farmer:

We have gone for oxford sandy and black weaners
Thanks for the Llama icon :llama:!

Just off to buy some electric chicken netting.
Having moved house multiple times in the last 2 years I have put up chicken fencing more times than I can count. We are here to stay now but I cant decide where to fence them into (I really need to get my seeds planted and they are busy digging up the veg plot!) and  so a more portable netting would be great! Obviously wish I had discovered it earlier!!

Good to hear from you all, thanks for the welcome

Ruth  :)

I'd like some electric chicken wire - any links please?
