Have just observed one of my one day old lambs limping on one of his back legs. he is one of twins and can only guess that he has been stepped on accidentally by mum. he is feeding well still which is a huge relief so was just wondering of peoples experience in this situation with bandaging and splinting if any one has it. thanks

Yep, had one last year that got in with one of the ponies, made the mistake of getting vet out (as opposed to taking to vet) she splinted and bandaged said leg plus gave me a course of metacam for three weeks and ordered minimum movement for four weeks. Her and mum in lambing shed (not impressed) but after four weeks good as new!

Don't know how to send this to you but if you search the forum for "broken leg" it's come up before and you may find your answer there.

Most likely it will right itself, so unless it is clearly broken (manipulate it to see if it feels the same as the leg the other side and that it has no crackles or crunches when you move it), I'd leave it for a few days and see what happens.
If you think it is broken then a simple splint will be useful - but as the lamb is growing you will need to keep replacing the splint as it grows out of it.

legs seems fine today probably had something as simple as dead leg, just being an over protective co parent i think. they are made of stronger stuff than i seem to think.
