Title: The other birthing kit "essentials"
Post by: Fronhaul on February 23, 2012, 10:57:48 am
I was lying in bed at 4am trying to get up the energy to go and check the girls thinking about the essentials that don't appear in the books.

Sally has mentioned Tunnocks Caramel Wafers and I will second that one and add (although its very non pc) my Nespresso machine for hot strong black coffee without really waking up before the coffee is consumed.

Husband swears by a packet of Frosties or similar for mindless mid night snacks.

So nosey female wants to know what keeps us all going during the wee small hours?

Cereal bars and bananas- stuff you can eat with out touching it- sometimes no matter how much you wash your hands they never seem clean after some jobs...

I always get hungry after getting called out in the early hours, I drink a lot of hot squash as it doesn't matter if it gets cold!

We always fill the tea flasks so that there is some hot tea whatever time of the night it is needed - and we swap the decaff for the real stuff!

Radio on worldservice when on watching duty for a gimmer in the wee small hours..., that and four layers of clothing at least.... it is always freezing at 2am, even in April!

That's sensible so long as you have enough meal times in a day - around ten is good.
