Title: Hello
Post by: brickyard on February 18, 2012, 11:16:06 pm
just a quick hello and a brief background to myself. I inherited a smallholding 6 years ago and am gradually putting right a VERY long list of things that are at the end of their life span and need renewing, fences, hedges, walls, buildings, the garden, etc.
The plus side is although I only have 5 acres, there is a apple orchard, which I use to supply apples for the traditional cider we make on our 80 year old family press. About 400 gallons last autumn!  Our meadows  are designated SSSI tradtional hay meadows with three types of wilds orchid among other species present.
We have an Aberdeen angus cow, ducks and chickens.
All hard work but good fun
Neil

Hi Neil

What a dream, inheriting a smallholding. I guess you inherit the problems too though!
