Following the film footage being released, Mr Brown told the BBC: "I was absolutely gutted and mortified. I had no idea anyone was filming anyone."It does look bad. I feel some of it has been a bit dramatised. The man concerned taking the film of the pigs he was supposed to be looking after."He said the pig which was beaten to death with a bar had a broken leg and would normally be shot."(Unfortunately the worker) did not have access to the shot gun which I keep at my house and he used a blunt object to kill it," said Mr Brown.

I know some of alleged cruelty cases ARE dramatised but you can't mistake this as being anything but horribly cruel >:( >:( >:( >:( Why didn't this man know that his pigs were being "looked after" by mindless, concience-free morons? Why wasn't a vet or knacker called to the pig with a broken leg?
I don't think this man has any defence at all. I hope he is never allowed to keep as much as a goldfish in a bowl ever again >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Also hope that he is not just banned from keeping pigs and moves onto something else. There is a man up here banned from keeping ponies( they actually had to strap the ponies in harnesses to help them stand) but is allowed other animals including sheep and cattle! Beggars belief a ban is a ban in my head. His croft is called Belsen by other crofters cause of the way his animals are kept , how do they keep going!!!???

If you can't look after one species, you can't look after any - and if you can't look after it now, you can't look after it any time. Lifetime ban on keeping any animal. IMHO.

I wouldn't watch them again - some of the scenes are just plain wrong. Real tear jerkers, gut wrenching.
The pigs are obviously just viewed as 'products' - terrible.
I cant imagine the heartbreak of whoever filmed it - must have been surreal as someone who cares - but had to stand back to get the evidence on camera.

They need to bring back the birch and start laying it across these peoples arse.

Well put, same here.
It is grim, it has stayed with me into this morning and I felt the need to talk about it last night with my mate when he came over (just recently split up with his gf so we had him over last night, being Valentines Day). We had a conversation about it, although he has not seen the video yet. Does make me want to know where my food is coming from. I am quite a patriot anyway, I only buy British whenever there is an option but if this sort of thing is going on, then it makes you wonder.
I read the report, this place was approved by the RSPCA recently. Also, unfortunately, this was just the first, random, pig farm these people infiltrated. They didn't go there on a tip off or anything. Hence you have the videos on youtube depicting "a typical pig farm". I do not believe it but then, you cannot argue with the evidence really. Very distressing, especially given the intelligence pigs are known to have.

how did it take so long to hit the headlines and go public
how does u tube vet the postings on there site(they did show a pig getting the head chainsawed of when still living)
despite his protestations HE IS responsible for his employ es and there actions no if s buts or maybes
the thousands of pigs that is there they will have losses/deaths and disposals it is just there management of these is nil
also it has been reported on here that commercial pig farmers are losing £21 PER PIG that is a lot of money to be hemorrhaging in any business :farmer:

I got that figure from a copy of the Farmers Weekly, it was during a push in the Pigs are still worth it campaign.

The first one I've seen pigs with lumps like that before.. I think sometimes it can be down to breeding (or from the occurences that i've seen i'd say that, as well as the environment) either way something should be done. The 2nd video i've seen plenty of pigs act like that when you've got a bucket of food in your hand and your 5 minutes late. That video could have been exaggerated.
However the last video i agree is horrific, the part that gets me most though is how it clings on in the head, wont say more on, but it is sickening.. I think it may have been better to wait to get the gun (assuming it was going to be in the next 24hours or so... or you'd think they'd be some emergency device somewhere).

I'm just horrified - having not followed this totally just can't believe the mindless, cruel people out there - how on earth can you do things like that to an innocent animal.......
