Afternoon all,
I have a very helpful farmer friend who is always lending us his stock trailer (it's a fantastic Gamic one where the top deck goes up and down!). Normally I repay with sausages, but he eats gluten free. The abattoir I use doesn't carry the rusk or seasoning as there's little demand for it. So, can anyone recommend a good quality and tasty rusk and seasoning mix that is gluten free?
Thanks in advance,
Allison

Yes, that's right Robert. But you can buy a gluten free mix which has a type of 'gluten free rusk' in it. I think it's made by Lucas.......It's not very good though (in my opinion).
I just leave the rusk out of mine and use different seasonings and dried vegetables. Works OK for me.

Sorry to hijack, but where do you get your dried vegetables from please Julie?

Scobies do a great range of gluten free mixes - burgers, sausages and puddings.
I've ordered from them before and found them good.

You see, I knew you guys would come to my rescue! I will have a look around and perhaps use my friend as a guinea pig to see what tastes best. I usually use Dalesman group so I might give them a go, but it's great to hear what's good (and what isn't).

Save all the hassle and buy him a bottle of scotch instead.

But you might find there is a good market for gluten-free sausages :) I'm like that too.
I think the ones I eat (Black Farmer) just don't have rusk in. Most gluten-free 'bread' alternatives taste like sawdust (probably are ;) )

Yes, my gluten free sausages are very popular.........onion and sage is the best selling at the moment.
