Deepinthe woods.
Was Jamie's restaurant good?
We went out for a Thai meal last night to celebrate both our birthdays. OH's last Friday and mine today.
Had a couple of cocktails beforehand and a bottle of wine with the meal so a good night was had by all
;D

ummm. overall it was lovely but i was disappointed with my main of pigeon and cavelo nero on farro, a barley type of grain, it was badly overcooked and pretty much inedible. however i shoot and cook pigeon and grow cavelo nero so maybe im spoilt!! i did discover a fanatstic wine tho, chateau des tours Vacqueyras 2002, that was worth going for and i will be treating myself to a bottle one of these evenings, when ive paid off the credit card!!
service was impecable and location was awesome. but i doubt id go again, i know of better restaurants down here that arent quite so pricey...

I thought farro was emmer wheat ? The italians use a lot of it to make pasta , 'farro pasta'.
It is one of the ancesters of durum wheat.
It is easy to grow Dave , so you could be self reliant in pigeon on cavel nero and farro !
Another one i must get some seed of and grow again . I grew it a few years ago without any problems , it was a good cropper!
