Hi all
I have given the second injection of the hep P today and I noticed that where I had given the first injection it had swollen into a large lump about the size of a 20p coin!! is this the usual reaction for the anti bodies ?
has anyone else noticed this before?
thanks

Yup, completely usual. Try to do it in a slightly different spot each time. But the reaction is one reason they like you to do the jab in the neck rather than behind the shoulder - the latter spoils the carcase.

thanks very much its nice to know that its a normal thing thanks

I've been told it is 'normal' when I asked another neighbour after having had the same on a few (all gone now and perfectly fine), but my mate did also re-literate the obvious - clean your needles in-between jabs, slow the injection speed, rub well after and make sure your doing it in the right place.
As I said it was the obvious - but its so easy to neglect cleaning and speed when you have a few to do.
I imagine that also having a sharp needle has alot to do with 'bruising' and swelling of tissue?
