Title: Hello from Mount-B
Post by: Mount-B on January 30, 2012, 10:46:16 pm
Hi, we are just about to retire and take up smallholding full time. We are near Cupar where we have established a nice flock of hens most of which we have hatched ourselves. The last two years we have reared turkeys for Christmas which is great fun. During the summer we hatch Aylesbury ducks which proved very successful. Our field is now ready to take sheep, so now considering which breeds would be best for us.
Looking at the list of things that still need doing I don't know where we will find the time, but that doesn't matter it will be miles better than sitting in an office and a 100 mile round trip every day. :)

Hi and welcome from West Wales, Cardigan Bay. Anythings got to be better than a 100 mile round trip daily, but am sure you will enjoy your new life. You will soon be wondering how you ever had time for work.

Hello, welcome to TAS.

We've got one of those lists too, the trick is to remember the aim isn't to get it all done - done is just the next step to more.  :D

Hello and welcome from cold and grey Carnoustie

We're not so far from you, so if we can help just shout. If you are looking for likeminded folk - try Central Scotland Smallholders Association www.smallholders.info (http://www.smallholders.info) or RBST Caledonia Support Group, if your interest lies in rare breeds.

We've got Ryeland sheep - always happy to show them off  :sheep: :sheep:
