Title: How much to Feed Ducks?
Post by: Pocagranja on January 23, 2012, 04:00:33 pm
Does anyone know how much to feed a couple of ducks?  We were given them last year & have guessed the amount by comparing to chickens? We can only get chicken food here, so they are getting that.  We have a drake & a hen so hopefully she will produce eggs in the Spring. Not sure of the breed but they are only small ducks. :&>

I give ours enough chicken pellets that it takes them about a quarter of an hour to hoover them up. I also give them grain in their pond just before bedtime - about a handful between two. They also love chopped lettuce and peas!

mine get the same as the chickens, except that they don't like mixed corn or barley, so soaked wheat and layers' pellets in the morning, wheat again before bed. :&>

Mine get ad lib layers pellets at this time of year and waterfowl breeders pellets March - June.
I don't find my (very) free-range ducks over eat, they leave pellets each day.
