I think i will be looking for some new girls in the next couple of months only thing is keep changing my mind what i want :D
I'm getting 4 girls and OH wants 2 Light Sussex and i will pick other 2 and at the moment going between either 2 Cream Legbars or 2 Wyandottes :-\

Hi Jools. We have both Wyandottes of various colours and some Cream Legbars. Wyandottes in our experience can be problematic. Cream Legbars are a delight. Get biggest hens and bluest eggs as there are small birds and green egg layers as well, neither of which is desirable in the breed.

Hi and welcome from North Yorkshire. I have hens too including two Speckledys, they are such beautiful birds.

I'm sorting another shed and run at the moment and might be up for a few new girls at POL in spring - I've had hybrids from Mike Black at Collessie but not sure if he breeds regularly or just an odd clutch..
Cameron stay in touch, I might be up for CLs if I don't succumb to temptation before yours are ready ;)
What's the problem with Wyandottes? I was also wondering about Marans for the dark eggs.. ???

Oooooo Cameron ! Keep me some Cream Legbars if you do a hatching  Really want some ;D
Ellied - I have a maran (cuckoo I think :-\) and her eggs are gorgeous looking. I find she doesn't lay as many as the Isa browns or bluebells, but they're worth it  Mines is called Maccarroni (she's got a squiggly toe) and she's a honey of a hen  :chook:
