Title: New arrivals....
Post by: BadgerFace on March 20, 2009, 03:51:38 pm
Polish & Porridge - the Foxhounds puppies that we have to 'walk' this year. They have already made themselves at home, and with the help of Mabel my otterhound have dug a nice hole in the rose bed !!  :dog:

Oh, they are lovely.

The farm I worked at in Northumberland many years ago used to "walk" foxhound puppies. The two I can remember were called Canape and Annabelle. They were just beautiful - very soft but completely nuts. If they got a scent, they were off, so they were only ever out on leads.

Wouldn't have one - can't let them off the lead - sight hounds go after anything that moves - and don't come back.  I have friends who used to have afghans and they invariably came home with one less and had to wait 9 hours once.  They deliberately bought a house near the sand dunes so the dogs would be safe if they did go off.  They don't have any dogs now - the experience put them off for life ;D ;D ;D

yeah, we have lots of livestock and smaller wildlife around us - so i keep using that as an excuse for not having one!!!
