Title: Heptavac P Pasturella and clostridial disease

We vaccinated our stock with the first dose of heptavac p today, all went well my daughter helped which was good and it only took a couple of hours to get them in dose them in the neck and return them back out, second dose in 4 weeks time, we have been blessed so far with the weather in the southeast, grass is still growing !!  does everyone vaccinate for pasturella and clostridial  anually?

Yes. Our lambs had a double dose last summer and all the sheep will get their booster 4-6 weeks before lambing.

Yes we vaccinate the in-lamb ewes a couple of weeks before lambing too

Yes, same as Rosemary.

Very jealous about the grass, stopped growing here at the start of Oct and probably won't be growing again til the end of April  :-\

We haven't used Heptavac for about 10 years and have had no problems.  However, we are constantly on the look-out for signs of clostridial diseases in our animals and of course if that happens we will go back to using the Heptavac.  I suppose it depends on what diseases are present in your locality.
