If anyone attends one of these, please can they let the rest of us know if it's worth it? The agenda sounds quite basic, and it's just three hours long, so I suspect it's a skim of the legislation and mainly a briefing on electronic pre-movement notification... But if it's any good I'd go to the one in Hexham on Feb 17th (birthings - lambs and calves - allowing.)
Thanks
Sally

It'll be run by Odelle Walker, who presents well, and knows her stuff.
From the agenda it is as you suggest a run through of the legislation.

Could someone post or email me the agenda please :-*
The courses are only being run south of the border and I'd like to try and get something for the Scotish contingent ;) I've emailed Odelle, but there aren't plans (as yet) to extend it up here :(
Thanks

Karen, all I've seen is what's on their website:

That's a great help Sally, thanks a million
I'm hoping they'll send me the notes for it and we (Scottish Pig Keepers) can deliver the information alongside some of our other workshops this year. It would make sense for the whole of the UK to be 'reading from the same hymn sheet' ::) :D

The first details I received had the course for the South West to be held in Exeter. Brilliant! I emailed to get a place and when I eventually received an email confirmation they had changed the venue to Shepton Mallet.......2 1/2 hours from me. So unfortunately I won't be able to go after all.

HH,
If Odelle doesn't send you the notes, let me know, and I'll see if I can get hold of a copy.
given an agenda of
Pig welfare legislation – 5 Freedoms (Animal welfare Act 2006)
• Biosecurity, disease control and effective quarantine
• Pig health, vaccinations and worming, fallen stock
• Movements, ID and legislation
• Feeding and legislation
• On farm record requirements
The first three may have different named laws, but are essentially the same.
Movements, ID and legislation - Movements will be slightly different as you have a simpler system, ID is from last November the same for scotland as in E&W.
Feeding legislation will be substantially the same, but not sure offhand how Scotland implemented feed hygiene regulations, but what you can feed is I think the same.
On farm records should be the same, but again different named laws.
