Got three boars going to the butchers end of the month, we last time tagged them once loaded (did the paperwork etc) but don't currently have any tags left,
can any one reccomend a supplier and what we need, i assume its the metal number stamped type (indestrucctable ones) but do we need anything else, have the regs changed since? oh and its uk (griffiths lentwardine shrops theyre going to)

metal, one ear -
don't forget the pliers!
you might want to check with the slaughterhouse, as some have their own preferences (eg tatooing)

p.s.
suppliers:
SfS (supplies for smallholders)
fearings
ritchie
dalton

I buy these ones from my local farmer shop and my abattoir takes them with no trouble and there are no applicators :) you just put them in with your hands :pig: they go in really easy and the pigs don't even seem to notice it at all. They are metal with printed numbers on one side and my herd number on the other side.
