Title: Hello from the Lake district!
Post by: Black Raven on December 23, 2011, 01:40:40 pm
Just thought I better say hello  We don't have many animals but I love them all! 17 various chickens including my beloved Pekins and blue Orpingtons, Sydney my Indian runner and his 4 I.R friends, 3 turkeys, 8 cats,3 of them are Norwegian forest cats 4 dogs, 2 Labradors, a naughty Whippet and a Lurcher, and 2 Dutch rabbits.
My sister thinks I ought to get an Alpaca, so she has a supply of wool for her knitting. I think she can buy it and clean it out! :llama:

I think it's still in Cumbria, but it's quite close to the Northumberland border. We were up near there a couple of months ago taking two cats to their new home  :)

Northeast.  A map may help with this.

A little courtesy would be at least as useful as a map in my opinion.

Cheeky monkey!   :D

I always think of it as northwest because we're really not far from the sea, and there's a lot of Cumbria east of our longitude.  But yes the Northumberland border runs through Gilsland so I could describe myself as being in northeast Cumbria equally, if not more, accurately.

Lurch, I looked in vain for your introductory posting - whereabouts are you?

Hello and welcome to the Lake District!
Don't care where Gilsland is, or others thinks it is, it's a beautiful part of the UK............................!
When we lived in Lancaster, before moving to Cornwall, we spent many a weekend and evening walking in the Lake District. Our daughter went to uni in Ambleside, extending our rambling even further................, sigh..........happy memories..........

It is beautiful and we are very lucky to live in a lovely village near Windermere. Bonus today as it's not raining - well not yet anyway ;D

Hi from Shropshire, and greetings. Sometimes our similar names may cause confusion, I notice that Rusty thinks that you are me already. Hey Ho. I am sure we will muddle through.  Best Wishes and welcome.
