after watching our young dexter whos now been in the barn for 2 weeks nearly,showing all the signs of imminent calving guess what happens today? the older heifer in the field not due until end april beg may or so we were told by previous owners, started to calve while I was at work, anyway all turned out well thank god weve got friendly cattle neighbour who helped deliver it 10mins before i got back, much bigger calf than we thought out of a dexter, calf is long legged mum is short both doing well, the start of our little herd :cow:.........neil!!!

second bull calf delivered tonight, all now in the barn, this ones a short leg dexter so thats the lot, cigars all round and a decent nights sleep here we come!!!!!!!..................neil

All you need to do now is sit back and watch your roast dinners grow, have you ringed them yet or are they going to stay intact? May I suggest you start halter training earlier rather than later, its so much easier to load a steer/bull when you can lead him in and tie him up.
