Years ago I participated in an online discussion about what cat and dog foods our cats and dogs would buy for themselves. It was so much fun I decided to start one here!
Since it's dogs and cats I have put the discussion in Coffee Lounge and pointers to it from Dogs and from Cats. Hope that's okay!
I'll open:
Dogs: fox sh**e, last night's curry and smelly old bone
Cats: mouse. Every time!
-
Dog Archie, the smelliest thing you can find
Cat - Cleo, dry cat food - very boring but only likes mice to play with and then ignores them once killed.
-
Tess :dog:- cat poo and cat sick (especially when the cat food is still recognisable)
Meg :dog:: dishwasher lickings
Bertie :cat: spuggies
Harry :cat: porridge or Weetabix with whole milk, preferably warm
Felix :cat: Whiskas
-
Rio (cat) - heads and front legs of all rabbits caught. Not rats - leaves them with the rabbit ends for dogs to find, also partial to right half sides of pheasants if freshly caught, and the occasional wing of magpie
Dogs (All) - anything that did move and doesn't any-more (by whatever means - gun, cat or selves), except rats. ::)
-
Dog - cheesy chicken; cheesy beef, cheesy biscuits, cheesy gravy... with cheese on top ::)
-
Cleo :dog: (wirehaired foxterrier): dry bread (the harder the better), chicken p** , frozen (!) horse p**, used tissues, anything that falls onto the floor in the litchen... the list is endless
-
Meg :dog: - chicken/turkey/sheep/cat poo, toast, pizza crust. These are favourites but will eat ANYTHING.
Tinker :cat: - voles, ham, cheese.
-
dobbie :dog: anything bad, cat poo including extra kitty litter is a favorite...
tigger :cat: anything, she's a tiny tabby who will kill anything she can catch which is most things, large pigeons a favorite, squirrels also popular, always leaves the head, paws and tails spread round the garden for us to find!!!
george :cat: large ginger beast, only eats catfood if its fresh from the tin and no one is around to watch, no other animals can be in the same room either, fussy git!!!
-
Arran - anything edible, except lettuce and cucumber :)
Skye - not a foodie at all but has learned to share cake whilst hiking and is especially partial to fruit cake :D
Skerry - anything Arran has..... ::)
Jinx - all fish but especially smoked salmon, which she jumps on the table and begs for :cat:
Jethro- egg yolk - this is what makes him appear on the table :yum:
-
Sheba :dog: anything. except perhaps banana & lettuce (she'll take it, but not eat it. The only two things ever that she won't try!)
:cats: shrews, mice, rats, cheese, chips (yes really!)
and if they made toys, the kittens get hours and hours of fun out of a cardboard box & a toilet roll .... they end up completely shredded
-
Pearl (American Bulldog) :dog: Cat Poo, Yogurt, Ice Cream, Goats Cheese if fact anything with milk in
Merlin (3 legged Akita x Lab) :dog: Anything as long as it's already in the bin or the Chicken have some oh & Goat Poo

Pig poo, sheep poo, rabbit poo, horse poo, just shovel sh## in a can and they'll be happy :D though they all love fruit and veg. One greyhound is partial to fish but won't eat anything raw (bones etc.) One tiny rescue Yorkie will only eat a bit of whatever we're having(if there are chips he'll come out of his hiding place for them :)) He's still looking for a good home :-*
Bread, ewe nuts, layers pellets, sow rolls all go down the same way!!
-
Max labrador - pig poo, rabbits, pig nuts, :yum: and will roll in anything that is dead or stinks!
-
brodie - horse poo or anything fishy

biggles - very sweet tooth so anything that come in a rustly wrapper.
borodies ideal perfume - fox s**t on her face and stuck in her ear hair!

max - anything at all (labrador)
oh, yes - reminded me that we used to say of Veni (big black bitch, probably had a lot of lab in there and some hound), that her rules were, "If I can swallows it, I eats it. If it doesn't come back up, it was edible." Bless her, I still miss her - she was a comedienne.
-
Oscar the cat demands baby blue tits by the half dozen ..any more and he throws up which the dog then eats.
-
Merlin (3 legged Akita x Lab) has decided his new favorite is :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: pony carrots ????? the goats get them most days and he says if they are good enough for them they are good enough for him!!
-

-
Victor (labrador) anything he can get in his mouth except cherries and oranges.
Daisy (labxgsd) anything that she thinks Victor wants unless he's not there in which case she's fussier, dog poo (oftern brings a bit in for later, gross animal).
