if only we were nearer the lops make fantastic mothers and the best crossing pig there is also there is a shortage of them in Scotland  :farmer:

 hi robert they do that we have decided to keep only the lops once the oxfords and kk's go off to the butchers.
we are going to hit the show ring next year with a couple from this litter, so we may well be joining you at the GYS (we could always slip a couple in your trailer there ;))

I echo Roberts words, if only you were nearer! How far can weaners travel safely i wonder?
-
 the longest distant we have sent weaners to was co durham they were sent on their way bedded down with feed scattered to keep them occupied on route, they arrived quite happy and soon settled in.
maybe robert or lill would know more about travelling times for weaners.
-
it is not the travelling time it is the cost of there and back that adds to the cost :( :farmer:

i would say 8 hrs max as thats my license limit. i agree, petrol prices are the worst!
ours have travelled 4.5 hrs and slept the whole way.

Furtherest we've done is Essex to to home almost Middlesbrough and yes the two little gilts slept all the way too.
