What breed of pig are we talking about?. Is the pig outside or inside?. i hand reared 2 saddleback piglets and they were milk mad I did put them on a lamb teat drinker once they got bigger in my shed with a heat lamp, if you persist with the water and pellets only it will eventually eat it though if outside try and attache the feeder and drinker to something to stop it knocking if over once the pig realises that the feeder and drinker won't move it will leave it alone, you could try warming the water.   :pig:

I agree with Robert - 24 hours starvation sorts out all, but the very fussiest of eaters  ;)
Providing he's old enough to go 24 hours without it having a negative effect on him - probably over about 4 weeks, I think I'd be wary of doing it much before that  :-\
Get some ear plugs (drop some in to your neighbours too  ;)) and prepare for the battle of wills - you have to win, or you'll be forever ruled by this pig  :D
Good luck !

If he's having all that milk he won't be hungry at all - that's why he's not eating  ;)
My (2 legged) baby was the same - too full of milk to be interested in food.
He'll be fine, not happy - but fine and he'll learn from this that you are the boss (hopefully  :D)
Good luck !

You could try 24 hr starvation or wow down on the milk that is a lot of milk for 8 weeks old and just put some milk say half a pint and pour the milk onto his nuts (pardon the pun) :o.  my Boar Bob is spoilt but you have to remember that they are livestock not pets.

If the pig by itself might be an idea to get company for it then it might not make so much noise, food will then become more of a challenge as it will have to push for it's food. Ditto Robert all pigs that get away with a lot can be aggressive as they think they run the show I had  Saddleback boar once that was ok with me but was starting to get funny with both my sons so they weren't allowed in the pen while he was still there, he was a big chap when he went for slaughter, I think he even went for one of the slaughterman that got to close to me and he was by no means pampered. You do have to be very careful.

grumpsgarden,
we had the same concerns with our hand-reared  piglets, they seemed very slow to take to food & water.
water down the milk, persevere, be patient, use a small bowl .... and above all, leave the piglet slightly hungry & leave him alone with the water bowl!  Of course, little Lucky is always way behind her sister, so we'd give her more milk and less water.
One day when you think it'll never happen, he'll take to it so don't panic

Pigs dont go without food for any length of time.    they wont starve or go thirsty....... He wille ventually eat and drink but the trick is not to give him any more milk or banana...... try some apple or just pig nuts.    Give him some green feed and see what happens.   What about some fresh dirt out of the garden.  This generally sets the pig going when there is something new given to him/her.  Curiosity is all it sometimes takes to get the pig off one track on to another.    I give my choc milk powder in a dry form amongst their crushed grain and they sure grow on it, but once they hit say 20 kg they lose the milk in their feed.  the also lose the other goodies I put in and just have grains crushed, minerals, meat meal, blood meal and tallow.   Now that is a thought give h im a little tallow on his nuts, he might just forget all about his milk.    Feed on the ground with his pig nuts and a cup drinker attached to a hose and bolted to the wall  cant tip it over then and cant tip his feed over either.  He may stand in it but that is pigs.
