Guinea pigs!!  That takes me back years to when I was 11, and my friend grew fed up with her guinea pig, and my mum let me have it;  It was enormous, and was called Shandy   I had Shandy years, and was so upset when she died.  My auntie came to visit, and was terrified of it .....said it was vermin!!!

Yours sound very reasonably priced Ballingirl - seen them for a lot more in our local garden centre :)

Guinea pigs aren't vermin- they are cute! We have 3 adult females ourselves, and may keep of the baby girls as well. Four is a nice even number!

Our are reasonably priced- they are usually at least £15 each in a pet shop. Will see how it goes- have them advertised locally, but if we get no takers they will go to an independant pet shop locally.

Would have a couple myself if we were closer :)  I remember a neighbour having some exotic type - they were really enormous, like mini pigs, and he also had some guinea pigs with ruffles on their necks - rosettes they looked like.
