Got home from the field at 5pm today to find the house in complete darkness, checked the central heating clock and power has been off since 10 this morning, not good as I have chicks in the brooder, luckily they seem to be alright.
The worrying thing is I also have eggs in the incy, will they be ok? they have had no heat for 7 hours

What stage are the eggs at?, we had a 4 day power cut one about day 15 during the snow last year, and 6 out of 7 eggs hatched 3/4 days over due.
-
some day 13 and three day 15
-
there is only one way to find out keep them in and turn off day 24-26 if they hatch all good you could candle them to see for movement

 daddymatty & cameron s
wait and see as my dad used to say lol

I would assume that they will be o.k. Not long to find out :)

eek fingers crossed!

if the doors not been opened its may not be that bad
its when the heat let out

Do hope they are ok Hatty - I am hopeful they will be at this stage. That has always been my worry - leccy going off when chicks are in incubator. Thats why I prefer the broody hen ;D
