Hi
I have hatched some chicks in the incubator but one of them is not right it is cheeping loudly which is good but it doesn't seam able to stand and is sort of lop sided is there any thing I can try??
if not what is the best way to put it out of its misery? :(
Thanks Hatty x

is it out the incubator or still in ?. If its out it could be splayed legs am afraid caused by slippery surface
-
still in incubator non slip matting in there but seems like a problem with its neck not legs
-
if its still in the incubator
i would leave it for 24 hours
we've had some like that in the past
and did OK after
-
thank JEP will leave it till the mornin :(
-
i agree leave it be as it will still be weak and it could be its muscles arent built up enough. Hopefully it will be ok
-
It takes a lot of effort to chip their way out of an egg ...and it does sometimes leave them weak. But usually they perk up - hope your chick does.
See how it is tomorrow - try and offer it a drink in a shallow dish - if its still weak, you may need to help it, same with food.
