Welcome Joseph.

Yes this is a fantastic site.  Although I don't yet have a smallholding this site has helped me to prepare for when I do. There are some great people on here with lots of diverse knowledge.

I hope you enjoy your time with us.

Sally

Thank you all!!

No, it does not exist sadly,  I am really lucky that our garden is larger than most allowing me to have what I have here. The upside is that in this grey urban jungle, the honey yield by far surpasses that which a rural beek gets in most cases. There is something for the bees throughout the year almost.

I am originally from Hackney and many moons ago I kept a goat and chickens in my garden. I used to walk the goat on a lead and exercise her on Hackney marshes... from memory she used to love long walks along the River Lee..... Happy Days!!

Who would ever have thought that one day I'd end up in the North East of Scotland with our own acres?  :trophy:

Hi - I also spent several years in Hackney - Clapton for 6 years, then next to Hackney Downs for a couple of years, then to Walthamstow for 5 years until finally getting out and moving to West Cornwall  ;D

Uppermillfarm - I might have seen you and your goat when you wlked the path by the river Lea - I spent many hours rowing up and down it!

Welcome to the site Joseph

Quite possibly you did.... I used to canoe the river myself and went to infamous Hackney Downs Grammer School.

  Hi from North Devon (via Stokie.............hugely miss the best curries in London, the pubs within walking distance and ..... the gunners).  We probably grew more in our small patio garden than our allotment now (pots everywhere, including the flat roof of the kitchen!).  Fantastic you are having it all it seems!
