Title: I finally got her
Post by: melodrama on October 21, 2011, 11:21:49 am: She is here, my beautiful 12 month old Shetland heifer and she is gorgeous! Huge thanks to Corrie Dhu for taking me up to get her and for all the helpful advice. Away back to the barn for another wee look ;D ;D

Rosemary, her name is Vaila, I have just filled in the form to send away and you can come and see her in the flesh anytime you want to ;D she's still a little spooked from her long journey but she is eating and drinking and doing all the necessaries from that so I'm a very happy lady. Has Emma figured out a day for coffee yet?

Mine are of a beefier type than many Shetlands - CorrieDhu's are much finer type - look more dairy-ish. Apparently, Shetlands don't reach mature size until 4 or 5 so mine have a way to go yet :o

Hillie's in the shed with the calves she reared this year; her own and the bought-in set-on British Blue cross are now 11 months old - and the BRBx is just about 1" taller than Hillie already!
