Hi, Mel
What's she called? Have you joined SCBA yet? nag, nag ;D
Can I come and see her in the flesh?
-
lachlanandmarcus - she is a doll! Rosemary, her name is Vaila, I have just filled in the form to send away and you can come and see her in the flesh anytime you want to ;D she's still a little spooked from her long journey but she is eating and drinking and doing all the necessaries from that so I'm a very happy lady. Has Emma figured out a day for coffee yet?

Found it on SCHBS. Hi, Steve  :cow: :cow:

Hi Rosemary. Vaila's also in the Breeders Directory on the SCBA site (members only - search by Animal).

Yep, found her. Have emailed you about Trondra Cara :)
Is Collafirth Rasmie the one (along with Templeson Boris) that we're supposed to avoid?
-
I am bloody useless haha I did mean to say North House! I am all over the place just now - always the same when I get a new animal cos no matter how much I read, I still feel a little out of my depth for the first few weeks! :dunce:

You and me both :dunce:

She's cute!
-
What size is a Shetland cow compared to, say a Jersey or Dexter?
-
From my vast experience :D of meeting Rosemary's two Shetlands - height similar to, but a much broader animal than the Jersey.

Mine are of a beefier type than many Shetlands - CorrieDhu's are much finer type - look more dairy-ish. Apparently, Shetlands don't reach mature size until 4 or 5 so mine have a way to go yet :o

Oh boy! :o
Hillie's in the shed with the calves she reared this year; her own and the bought-in set-on British Blue cross are now 11 months old - and the BRBx is just about 1" taller than Hillie already!

is that one of pearls.

Yes it is one of Pearls - she is such a lovely lady! Vaila is getting used to me and is doing very well! She has been sniffing the halter and let me put it on her today so more work with her tomorrow. :cow:
