Title: Wanted: Covered Hay feeder for goats
Post by: McRennet on October 16, 2011, 07:08:37 pm
Hello!

Thought I may as well post on here before even considering buying new.  :o

I am looking for a hay feeder that would easily accommodate one small bale (possibly more) at the moment we have a borrowed 8ft Bateman but one day we will have to give it back  :'(

Please do let me know if anyone has something that they no longer need and would like a few shiny pennies for.....

(Will try to collect regardless of location)

build one?

ours holds a full rectangular bale, its not covered but is fairly high - the goats make little holes through the mesh getting the hay out!

I have a Medium Hay Hutch which holds a small square bale.  However I am in North Aberdeenshire  and not sure where you are.

I don't have one for sale, but ours are just the plain pannier style mesh ones, and OH built a lid out of some extra mesh, easily bent to open on one end and kept in place with rubber hook-ons (Don't know what they are called in plain English). If you need one bale for the goats at a time, just put two next to each other....

They can easily travel too, and are lightweight.
