Title: how long do I keep kids seperate
Post by: Penninehillbilly on September 27, 2011, 02:04:23 am
Hi
I left the kids on their mums for nearly 4 months, seperating them for longer intervals until completely about the beginning of August,
can anyone suggest how long should I have to keep them seperate so they don't try suckling again, they are in fields where they can hear but not see each other, and in different field shelters about 200metres apart at nights.
They don't seem bothered now but I don't want to be back at square one!

they will still try and suckle even 12 months or more later.  they do love to be in family groups. and have a very strong herd instinct, our bt's won't move unless the bs's pack leader starts to walk first then they all follow.
once the mum is put in kid again she will reject them naturaly.
