Title: Paint and goats don't mix

So...against my better judgement and because we really couldn't put it off any longer, we decided to decorate the spare room. After an exciting afternoon in Homebase (don't say I never take you out says my OH), we duly arrive home armed with a tin of paint and the usual spare roller sleeves etc.

All was going well, mixed the paint with a stick the dog had found (brushed the mud off first of course), poured the paint (sea urchin 4 colour) into very professional paint tub and took the whole lot upstairs.

We spent a happy afternoon bopping away to Meat loaf and Def leppard (sad old gits that we are) whilst slopping paint (sea urchin 4) in the general direction of the walls.

Now...our goats are fairly good as far as goats go..if you see what I mean. They respect the electric fence and generally behave themselves. NOT TODAY! Our 2 Saanan kids decided that we had spent FAR too long indoors and did we not realise that it was 5.30 and they were hungry?  The fence was navigated and they came round to the back door to see what was happening. Having got no response from banging on the door (apart from making the dog bark, which of course we didn't hear due to Meat loaf at a rather high level) they decided to have a good old look around.

It would appear that on finding their stable door shut and the shed with the chicken food in well and truly locked, they targeted the only other thing that could be classed as 'mischief'...the stick I stirred the paint with. It would appear that the little male picked it up and proceeded to wrap it all around his sister. I how have a dear little white kid with a big stripe (sea urchin 4) along her side and a little smudge on her nose!

There's me thinking that now the children have left home all my troubles were over!!  :D

Lovely story, Skirza - thanks for posting.

Not sure about the title - sounds like your goats would happily mix paint!  :D

your goats are just brilliant!  :D

we have similar problems with cats, dog and paint - both indoors and out!
 
Sea urchin4 sounds nice - any chance of a photo of it on the goat?!

Great story.  :D

According to Dulux "Sea Urchin 4 is a calm blue" - maybe it'll rub off on the tear-aways!  :)

I always find that a coat of varnish stops the cat from moulting.!
