Title: hen with 9 chicks

was up at my place when i heard what sounded like chicks hubby looked and found one of our isa browns with 9 chicks lol naughty hen safely snugg in the shed with her chicks we dread to think she must have been out in the dreadful weather we always wanted a broody hen i thought we were missing a hen also bought a cream legbar at the rare breeds at caledionian market today

My OH was parking the old Land Rover today when he heard some squawking and stopped - he had just squashed four newly hatched Scots Grey chicks and the hen was trying to kill the Land Rover.  Still 5 chicks left so now we need to try to catch them for the night.  Like you, we had no idea she was incubating a clutch.
Some cream Legbars are next on my list.......... :) :chook: :chook: :chook:

Oh Fleecewife, sorry about the Scots Greys!  We found a cockeral flat under the haystack one year...

only 12.00 guy was selling them/cream legbar plus lots of other hens pidgeons ducks quails at cally market stirling glad son and hubby caught her n chicks and she is safely locked in her shed my ponies were in the same field that the hen was hens lol drive you loopy discovered they like laying eggs in strange places under my caravan is the latest place stables if they can get in no doubt we will be going to lanark next sale tried downloading foto says its too big ? a foto lol
