Hi, I am planning to move to France next year and would like to keep a few Large Black Pigs. I am having problems finding any breeders or anyone who keeps them. we hope to live in the Limousin area and ideally i would not want to transport any animals I buy too far. Failing that I will look at keeping some Gloucester Old Spots. Any help anyone can offer would be most welcome. thanks, Maggi :pig:

Hi Maggi, sorry cant help you with the pigs but welcome to this brilliant website and forum, I'm sure you will get lots of helpful information and advice from members. Best wishes and good luck in your move to France next year from Anne in West Wales

Welcome to this site Maggi and good luck with your move.
If you want to export pigs to France a good starting place would be to contact the BPA (British Pig Association) tel 01223845096 even i have to admit they are quite good at helping with the export side of all things piggy. They will be able to hopefully point you in the direction of a breeder from your preferred choice and help with the myriad of paperwork and conditions for exporting livestock. Failing that contact the relevant breed societies.

Hi - we keep Berkshires and GOS here in Poitou Charente (Dept 16). There are others on here who live in France and may know of breeders of large Black pigs.
