hi i am looking for a cider/fruit press i am in cupar fife need asap can buy if cheap enough
-
Good luck to you Demonfarmer.
My unasked for advice?
Be careful of "cheap enough" presses. My experience is that if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.
Are there any other apple/fruit growers near you? or a community initiative that have a press that you can use?
Sorry - not being very helpful - but you would want to avoid a false economy I'm sure

sorry i didnt reply before only just fixed pc havnt been on since may i appreciate your input and thank you for your help last time

Building one is fairly easy if you have a car jack for squishing power and plenty of spare wood - we knocked one up in an afternoon which seems to do the trick. There's a picture of the result on our website:

Yes - and you can get good pressures with a car jack press
-
hi dose anyone have plans to help build one
-
PM northfifeduckling - I'm sure that there's a transition town initiative that has a good fruit press for hire. Just can't remember the name at the moment as it's some time since I had dealings with them.

I posted on your other thread about going to the apple pressing course at Falkland Centre for Stewardship - I also know they either rent out their press or you can take your apples in to them - not sure which or maybe both are available.. If you're in Cupar area then you might find them worth a call..

sounds great do you have there number?
