Hi looking for advice on my geese, 12 months ago bought 4 20 week old geese 2 Embden and 2 Toulouse. It was supposed to be one gander and 3 geese. It turned out to be 2 of each. All has been well until recently when with both seeming happy and paired with the female of his choice.It now seems there has been a fall out and the smaller gander is picking on the other at bed time with none of the geese going into there shelter any more. Will I have to get rid of one of the ganders? it would be difficult to keep both pairs separate at the moment. Ron

My families seem to sort themselves out, I have a trio of two ganders to one female but that is there choice of about 30 others , a couple of one of each pairs and other groups of four or five. As said, they have sorted themselves out and have a good choice on free range. But saying that I have a loner that hangs with the ducks. I would just watch and let themselves sort out who's top goose and see if they get on then, you dont want to be without a gander if something happens to one of them over winter and with breeding next year.

Thanks Hermit, the situation has improved slightly with the geese going into there shelter again at night, good point about may be needing the gander next spring. Thanks
