Did anyone manage to see Aurora last night? There's supposedly a magnetic storm in progress and solar activity is very high - the Aurora website http://www.gi.alaska.edu/AuroraForecast/4 (http://www.gi.alaska.edu/AuroraForecast/4) reckons the lights would be visible on the northern horizon from Edinburgh upwards.
I was late back last night so unfortunately didn't get the alert in time to tell you all before bedtime. We had cloud cover here; the glow behind it was slightly greeny then later slightly bluey but really that could have been nothing. I shall keep trying...

It's chucking down here near Edinburgh and looks like it's on for the day and more, so I doubt we'll see anything. I did know about it and was going to0 watch - I never seem to eb able to see these things. Only once seen the A. borealis when I lived in Ellon on top of a hill.
