Title: help please :D x
Post by: BacheBrook on September 09, 2011, 09:26:34 pm
Hey guys,

Just a quick question, I've been quoted 100 to 'top' my land
Its only 7 acres! Does this not seem like a lot!

My friend was only charged 250 to spray his 20 acres and surely that's harder?

Am I correct in thinking this is too much??

Thanks peeps xxx

i do not think what you have been quoted is excessive        in fact i know it is not excessive the person doing the topping has to supply the tractor/topper and fuel you don't expect to get this done for a six pack
if it is a bat wing topper it wont take long a nine foot topper will take longer and a four foot topper will take even longer
also the ground conditions and how the field is shaped
a sprayer is wider and can cover more ground in less time :farmer:

What's your land like? It takes me at least a day and a half to top our sloping, bumpy, rushy, wet fields which amount to about 8 acres. That's with a 4ft topper, it wouldn't take a wider one. So £100 doesn't seem like a lot.
