Title: Oviduct Prolapse

Hi All
One of our hens has a prolapse, we have popped it back in now twice, used some preparation H cream on the outside and the inside to try and help shrink it, segregated her away from the others to stop any pecking. But this morning it is back out again :( I was just wondering has anyone else had this (well their hens anyway), and how many times you would keep putting it back in before calling it a day. She is eating, drinking well and quite perky, and has laid again today. Any info would be greatly appreciated..........

I have always used Anusol and they seem to be fine afterwards,my last one was terrible,I took her indoors,gave her the treatment,kept her off of laying for a few weeks and she is fine now.

I put my rhode rocks prolapse back in twice. first time it stayed in for ages (anusol and purple spray) and then second time she deteriorated and died middle of the day (about 3 days after i put it back in) i think she'd just had enough  :(

unless she is a very special hen. the kindest thing is to cull her.

Thanks so much everyone, have put it back in this afternoon so will see if this works if not I think its time to call it a day.............

My experience was similar to plums. She was my daughters nbantum rosecomb so very special. But I had to cull her in the end. It was very sad but for the best poor thing  :'(
