I have small herd of 4 (2 cobs and 2 section A's) and think i need a 5th member...something kind of shetland type i think, 10-16 years old, maybe a wee strong willed mare to keep the boys in line i think...
anyone know of anything locally?
needs to be on long term loan as got no cash to buy anything :(
-
Don't the four keep each other company?
-
you can have one of our shetland colts if you can pay the transport costs 4 year old.
-
Rosemary...long story!
sheltandpaul, thank you but think a colt will be just a bit too strong willed for what I need :( thank you so much though.

How about going to a rescue centre for a companion?

Ah yes, I remember. I'm going for a pony cuddle fix next week - Tuesday or Thursday probably.

Was just thinking it might be an easy solution to your companion requirement and my overstocking problem ;) I have a lead on some possible extra grazing to rent but not sure when I'd get it and the youngsters are growing but not filling out so they're lanky and one mouth less here for anything from a few weeks to a couple of years would be feasible.. I wouldn't give them away but a long loan to someone I know knows native ponies might either give a youngster some decent grass or an older fatter one a bit of exercise or something needing ridden even..
Not really thought it through, was just pondering and thought I'd offer but from your other post it seems a shetland mare might be en route (bar a travel passport)..
