Post by: Cobra on August 13, 2011, 02:24:24 am
Moved the girl into teh stable today so shes ready, felt it would be esier than the arc if there were complications, shes showing signs but could be a day or two yet. Let you know how we get on.

Our sow is due any day too, it will be my first litter. OH is very experienced he kept pigs before we met but this is a first for me and i'm sooooo excited. She is in pig to a meatlink boar and hubby says they will be boring colours but i don't care i'm still looking forward to it.
Good luck Cobra  :)

Thanks for all the well wishes.

Well she started at 2:00am (of course  :D ) and finished around 3:30am So weve gone full circle, bought pigs, meat in the freezer, now new life  :) I now have pigs I didnt have to buy so yah it feels rather good right now  ;D ;D ;D

Her first time and mine farrowing pigs; the girl done good. On my own for the night on this one other than the horses who were great company  ;D

Nine in total Six F & Three M, they all seem pretty healthy including the runt who is of course the cutest out the lot. I had one the wrong way round but that didn't seem to phase her too much, and a gap between the others and the last a nerve raking twenty minutes, about to intervene when a reassuring look from mother and a big push saw number 9; fair fly out the gate.

Mixed batch as expected and varying sizes, this wasn't a planned pregnancy as most of you are aware but some very nice piglets, god arnt they qute  ;D :pig: :pig:

Hope at least one of these links work for you?

Still waiting!! i'm fit to burst with excitement, she is looking distracted today and we are off to a show tomorrow so our son will look to her. Just my luck she gives birth when i'm in the ring. If we win anything with the sheep i just might implode!!! ;D
