since joining this happy band of warriors the above has been asked on many occasions
pig at 122 kilos liveweight
returned 89 kilos deadweight with head trotters etc
usable meat 73.186 kilos made up as follows 8.586 kilos bacon 24.4 kilos of joints 5.2 kilos of belly 34 kilos of sausages and 1 kilo of fillets the bones have been kept and the head boiled down to make potted hock
so that is 33kilos lost at the killing and15 .814 kilos made up of bones /rind /head and ears the skin was cut of to get fat rendered but there was no spare fat
so there you have it the only blank area is the weight of the skin/bones/boiled head /ears and trotters

We've just had our pigs done and have the following figures:
First pig -Live Weight 95kg :pig:
Dead Weight 85kg
Meat weight 55kg
Second pig -Live Weight 105kg :pig:
Dead Weight 89kg
Meat weight 59kg
For the meat weight all joints were boned out The meat weight does not include head or trotters either (the dogs don't like the trotters and I can't cope with the head cos I recognize the individuals...!) ;D ;D
