I have lost a dog, not one of mine, but one I am looking after for someone :'( She has stayed with me before and suffers from separation anxiety so sticks to me like glue. This morning I took her up to my fields with my whippets and small dogs and she just disapeared! I have been looking for her all day, looking at other people's livestock for signs of agitation etc. but not a sign of her.
My dear O.H. has gone up this evening with my son, who, twice before has "known" which direction an animal has been in. I will go up and stay the night with a couple of dogs and, hopefully, when all is quiet I will hear her bark.
Positive thoughts please from all my forum friends :)

good luck, im sure youll find her ;)

Could she have got out of your fields? There is no guarantee she is still around if she can. However, if she suffers from SA then she may not be far away, unless she has gone in search for her owner. Have you gone to look near her home. I wish you all the luck in the world.

hope she turns up soon, safe & sound

Do hope you have found her now. Its so worrying when a dog strays, more so when its not yours.

No luck last night. I'm waiting for the kennels to open, hopefully she has been handed in. I feel terribly guilty, her owner is disabled and has gone into respite, I had to tell her when she 'phoned last night and she was so kind about it it made me feel worse!
The field we were in is whippet proof, or as good as, with rabbit proof fencing and a secure gate but she found a way out somehow. I think she just took it into her head to go home and went.
I wouldn't be so worried if all the traffic could be stopped between Ashburton and Paignton until she was found. That is a very real danger and I feel sick thinking what news may come.
Thank you everyone for your kind and encouraging words and I hope to have GOOD news soon.
Robate, I will get in touch with Doglost as soon as the kennels ring me if no news there. I have rung our Dog Warden who is very good, local vets and rescue kennels and she will be on local radio today.

what a worry for you but I am sure she will turn up

I do hope you find her , I lost Daisy a few weeks ago she had been down the river with my OH and must have gone into the oilseed rape field which goes up to the A1, we spent ages looking for her and then a neighbour said that he had seen cars braking on the A1 for a little white dog. We were very lucky as someone had picked her up and taken her to the local police station then to their home, when I went to pick her up she was having a great old time playing with their dog and there was me with a million more grey hairs.

Sylvia, a friend of mine ahs just set up a Facebook page to enable an instant reposnse across the world to find lost dogs. Here's the link - you need to either message Nina direct or ask to join the group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/100487030051196 (https://www.facebook.com/groups/100487030051196)
