Title: Colours
Post by: tizaala on July 24, 2011, 05:01:09 pm
Can goats see colours? And if so, have they any preferences? We have black, blue, green and one yellow feeding/water bucket. All the goats are absolutely mad about the yellow one. Leave the water in the little blue ones and go for the big yellow one. Same water, all fresh. Actually I only have to carry the yellow bucket and they follow me.

Apparently goats can see yellow, orange, blue violet and green so they prefer the yellow bucket to the blue ones. Could have something to do wiith the yellow one being bigger as well!

Interesting!!!! I am pretty sure it is not the size as the black buckets are the same size as the yellow one but do not get the same attention.
But blue is definately well down the list.

I bought a new brush for grooming my goats and vannah wouldn't come near me with the new pink one (reggie loved it) - weird really because both goats really enjoying being brushed  ::)

we always put feed for milking time in the yellow bucket - they definitely recognise it.

heaven forbid I should "borrow" it to carry rabbit food... the noise they make!!

My ewes go mad for 'pink bucket' . They'd follow it anywhere...which is very useful at times......
