Title: Toads...

I seem to have hundreds of toads on a journey through my field, which includes my hen run!  I caught one of my hens eating a large toad today - aren't they poisonous?  Or is that just to us mere humans?

I think, not certain though, that toads secrete a nasty tasting substance from their skin if threatened but aren't actually poisonous.
