Title: weight at killing

sorry i might have asked this before but i couldnt find the answer again.
is 85kg a realistic weight to achieve for a 6 mth tammie? if so what would the weight of the meat be once its butchered. many thanks

i think you are a bit to hopefull          for a tamworth at 85 kilos at 6 months       if you force feed them they layer the fat on     on a 85 kilo live weight  you would expect 55-60 kilos carcase weight inc head and bones
our Hampshire's are 105 kilos at just on the six months  and they can put on 10-12 kilos a week after 60 kilos tammies will only gain at best 4 kilos a week after 60 kilos i could go on about the hamlops and the hamtams but that is not what you were asking :farmer:

ok thanks robert. at least its some idea, now what would be the bigger pig between the tammie and the GOS, (our are only 5 mths so not sure how big they will be. )
