Hi there, I am desperately seeking land ½ to 1 acre size would be perfect. I live in Annan in Dumfriesshire and I can’t seem to find any land for rent any ware...I need the land for chickens and maybe a pig or 2. Any tips on how to rent land or if you have any land for rent in this area would be great.
Cheers

To be honest, at least here, land is hard to get hold of. If you see an empty plot of land, ask around to see who owns it, then approach them ....no harm in trying that - they can only say no. Maybe put an ad up on the notice board at your nearest auction mart, or animal feed store, where people with land are likely to go?
Pity you are not in Derbyshire, as my little croft is still stood empty!
Good luck with your search.

thanks for the great advice.ill try putting some adds up and see how that goes.

Also try the River cottage originated Landshare scheme, you can register your needs and folks with spare ground can get in touch?

Did you have it advertised on here, Roxy?

Yes, I did .....house and land. Had a buyer, but unfortunately he had a heart attack, and decided not to go ahead with moving. Still on the market.

Bump the link up again, Roxy, things change all the time - you never know who is reading this forum.

Don't forget large gardens too. There may be someone who'd let you use the bottom of their garden for chickens in return for some eggs and seeing the land used.

i knocked on peoples doors if they had empty land beside there house. one finally said yes, i'm sure they think i'm mad as it was very over grown with 10 years worth of brambles etc but i'm slowly getting there.
