Title: Egg Turning.
Post by: Dougal on July 06, 2011, 02:48:19 pm
I've been kindly gifted a little, simple incubator which I tried with out any success earlier in the year. I'm wondering if i was turning the eggs too often so letting all the heat escape and so chilling the eggs? How often should the be turned? Also for twelve eggs how much water should I add and at what stage of the incubation period? Looking forward to all the advice.

I have manual incubators and turn my eggs three times a day, one third of a turn clockwise. Others do it differently but this works for me. Each time I turn I give about six short squirts with a sprayer, increasing to ten after 17 days. Stop turning eggs from 18th day but continue with water.
Make sure you have fresh eggs from a good source.
